Chlorhexidine Shampoo

Hydrating cleanser adjuvant in the treatment of dermatological diseases

Chlorhexidine is a topical braod-spectrum bactericide against gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria, virus and fungi. Many studies have proved that it’s necessary to let the foaming shampoo act at least 15 minutes to allow chlorhexidine perform its antiseptic action. According to the animal’s pathology and if the application time is the same, a different chlorhexidine concentration is required:

  • 1,5 mg/ml – neutralizes bacteria such as Malassezia pachydermatis, Staphylococcus intermedius, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris, Enterobacter cloacae, Providencia alcalifaciens.
  • 3 mg/ml – neutralizes also Escherichia coli; Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella typhimurium, Shigella dysenteriae, Clostridium perfringens forma vegetativa, Streptococcus faecalis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Bacillus sfericus forma vegetativa, Streptococcus faecium.

Chlorhexidine Shampoo carries out a moisturizing action and restores the hydrolipidic stratum. It’s an adjuvant in the treatment of skin sufferings, is refreshing and gives the animal a pleasant sensation of wellbeing. Due to the chlorhexidine the cleansing power of this shampoo is combined with a highly hygienizing action particularly suitable for dogs and cats with dermatological diseases.
